Justyn Myers is a San Francisco based DJ, record collector and all around music nerd. He is the founder and resident of oksional, a community minded monthly dance party featuring talented Bay Area DJs playing extended sets in an intimate venue. Myers plays regularly at clubs, bars and underground parties around the bay area and beyond, like F8, Mothership, El Chato and Underground SF. He’s especially fascinated with the history of dance music from the late 70’s through the early 90’s, and collects and plays records from those decades.

Originally a drummer and percussionist playing jazz, afro-latin and indie rock, Justyn Myers first got into dance music in the early aughts when he started volunteering at the community radio station KZSC 88.1 FM in Santa Cruz. He eventually held down a Saturday morning time slot there.

Myers started going to underground parties at that time and was hooked! Not only was he obsessed with the music, but it was the first time he found a space that truly felt safe and inclusive, full of other lovely weirdos like himself that loved to dance and nerd out about underground music. 

Myers moved to San Francisco in 2009, and immediately fell into the underground art and music scene there. At the time, he was part of the LoveTech crew that threw monthly live experimental electronic music and art parties.
